Studies have shown diet and lifestyle changes can help boost fertility by up to 69% (source).
Depending on your test results, and whether you are freezing your eggs because you have low ovarian reserve or endometriosis (like me), or you are perfectly fertile and freezing your eggs because you want to prepare for the future - the intensity of your restrictions may differ.
For optimal egg health, it’s recommended to start these dietary changes 3 months prior to your IVF cycle.
There are a lot of interpretations of the fertility diet, but a few things hold true for them all: limit caffeine, alcohol, sugar, processed foods - avoid dairy or gluten if you have an intolerance.

Depending on your circumstance, your doctor may say alcohol & caffeine is fine up until your actual stim cycle. If egg quality is of concern, it can’t hurt to cut back. My first two rounds I was pretty diligent about it, even the months leading up - but this last time I allowed myself wine or champagne on a few occasions and shamelessly indulged in my birthday cake.
As a general rule of thumb, it's best to follow a Mediterrean Diet. These are the basic guidelines I like to stick to:
Add to your diet: (always organic when possible)
Avocado
Organic Sweet Potato
Sunflower Seeds
Walnuts
Wild Salmon
Dark Leafy Greens
Lean organic poultry
Berries
Maca Powder
Bone Broth
Healthy fats
Remove from your diet:
Alcohol
Caffeine
Refined sugar
Processed Foods
Soy
Gluten
Artificial Sweeteners
Additives
Canola Oil & Vegetable Oil
Here are some fertility recipes of meals that did not make me feel completely deprived!
